A Narrative Landscape

This Narrative Landscape is a textile installation that celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the Civic Center Greek Theater by visually activating the Colonnades. Representing layers of time and land, eight hung individual 12’ x 10’ fabric panels will undulate through the space spanning across both sides of the Theater. This historical panorama portrays a hundred years of events, symbols, and themes through layers of abstract images and textures. From afar, viewers experience an elegant ephemeral Colorado vista, while up-close, noticeable images of clouds, leaves, words, and people are recognized. An interesting experience is presented through the contrast of ephemeral translucent/opaque fabric and the theater’s monumental stone facade.
