Layered Landscape incorporates juxtapositions: textiles and architecture, ephemeral cloth and discarded objects, translucency and opaqueness, refined and unrefined. The fabric comes alive through these opposites; a viewer slows, observes, and contemplates its calming rhythms for a moment. Inspired by Thread Studio, this architectural textile wall absorbs its surrounding space both literally and metaphorically. Louis Kahn once said, “The nature of space reflects what it wants to be.” It is the harmony of each single sewn layer that creates the strength of the whole - a gestalt.
